This has been my music store of choice for 30 years!! 5 stars!!!

  • *****

Best Guitar Shop in Houston! Laid back no pressure sales! With the best guitar repair and setup man in town! Seriously, you can't go wrong shopping here! Tell them John sent you!

This place is great! Love the instrument selection, great prices, and the guys that work here are honest men who’ll give things to you straight.

These guys are great, I bought a pedalboard and a couple of pedals, they helped me hook it up, and it works great. I also took my 40-year-old Gibson 12 string in to get the electronics worked on and new strings. I got it back with my frets cleaned and the electronics 100%. This is a small store but with a big heart. they are the best.

Great people! Friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable. Hughe was a huge help (OK, pun intended) but he's really a great guy and seemed to know exactly what I was looking for as soon as I walked in the door. Don't waste your time and money at the big stores. Go where the service is. They also have the price and selection you want. Many thanks!

AMAZING southern folk lol Jim and john help me with new old stock 2017 ender precision elite in a champagne color the pictures do not do this bass justice and they took great pictures. Communication was great with John I asked for a few specific things which were related to Jim the owner the transaction was flawless the shipping was immediate but the packaging of my guitar was ridiculous and I mean that in a way that is a term of endearment the base had bubble wrap inside the case the case had bubble wrap inside a box the box had bubble wrap and then it was put in another box it was like opening a Christmas present three times call at one point I was like how do I get to my bass guitar it was wrapped so well the bass plays amazing stayed in tune through shipping I can’t say enough about this particular fender product if you are looking for a fender elite or ultra spend The money this is my go to bass number one forever base do not hesitate to deal with this business the company or the people involved they will take care of you and your instrument of choice

    WOW!!

I have been coming here off and on for many years, because Robert is the only guitar tech who can get my Rickenbacker 4001 Bass to play perfectly. But when I stopped in recently, I met Hugh, who is so friendly and knowledgeable and just an authentic, decent dude. He put a REALLY special bass in my hands and ZERO pressure on me. Great experience compared to those other stores.... but as if that wasn't enough, I met Joel Gregoire! He is a STELLAR guitar player and meeting him in person was a genuine thrill!
The only way that you could get more guitar knowledge, experience, passion, and expertise guiding you in an amp or guitar purchase would be by hiring Joe Satriani to personally advise you, Joel is THAT good.
This is a VERY special music store, bottom line.

Moved to the Houston area recently and was looking for a music store for players. If you are in the North Houston area this is your store. Not the same repetitive bulk of entry level instruments. While they do have a great selection of those they have a great selection of instruments for pros. They came recommended by a friend and I’m glad I went.

Handsdown, great shop. They will gladly go the extra mile for you, regardless of what you're buying.

  • *****

Great service, Great Store. The store is on I-45 at FM 1960 not in Humble, TX

  • *****

Great Store. I bought a Martin Guitar from Hugh Meyer and paid hundreds less than Guitar Centers best deal! Two Thumbs up!

  • *****

This store has my custom bass 7 string set!

Have purchased from TME since 1989 and have always received great service and outstanding deals! The TME team know their business better than the 'box store' music stores and offer a personal touch with every deal. The owner works in the store and is committed to providing quality service at unbeatable prices!

  • *****

This store has quite the selection despite its small size. They have wall to wall guitars and amps at competitive prices. You will also get friendly, personalized service. Whether you're a novice or expert musician, if you need something they probably have it, if not, they will help you find it.

  • *****

Jim and Hugh are great guys, I always go to them first, prices and service are the best! Free T-Shirts too was a nice touch. You will not regret shopping here!!!

  • *****

Took it to TME off a friend's recommendation and they saved my guitar. I can't thank them enough. I committed the cardinal sin of leaving my dad's guitar on a chair and it slid off, cracked the neck in half and I was devastated. Replacing a guitar is easy. Keeping one that meant a lot to your dad before he passed and to me after? Not so much. Friendly, courteous and couldn't be happier with them. Jim and his crew are the best at what they do! :)

This the best music store in North Houston/Spring (possibly all of Houston). They're always cheaper than Guitar Center a.k.a. musical Wal-Mart, and much more professional. They don't try to rush or sell you. I bought a Jazzmaster late in 2014 and it was set up perfectly and cheaper than anywhere else. My next guitar purchase will be from here as well. If you want to be ignored or hassled and lied to, please go to guitar center. If you want to buy good gear, without any bullshit, go to Texas Music Emporium.

  • *****

Hands down my favorite music store in Houston. Great service , prices, and they even do set ups.

  • *****

Guitar Tech was out on vacation at the GC near here so I came to TME to get a setup done on a new Tele as well as install new strings and a pick-up. Got my guitar back in tip top shape with a great setup, clean install of pickups, and strings that were in-tune and seemed to not even fall out of tune for being freshly installed (guessing Robert, the tech, broke them in a bit for me). Also got a GREAT deal on a Fender case for my guitar. These people are warm and welcoming. Will be coming back for my future guitar needs. Felt weird and wonderful not being guilted or pushed to buy extra warranty coverage at the checkout *cough* Pro Coverage *cough*.

  • *****

Great place man. Took my guitar in there to get some wiring fixed and they told me everything that was wrong and helped me with a setup. Would recommend

  • *****

I just had my GE 1937 Martin 000-18 setup at Texas Music Emporium. The action was substantially improved and this service was performed within two hours for a very reasonable price. I live in The Woodlands, and had been driving to west Houston for luthier service for a couple of years now. Jim and the crew at Texas Music were very friendly and courteous and I am now planning on bringing in my other Martins for set-up. This is an outstanding group and I highly recommend them. The store has an excellent selection of guitars and other music supplies. Definitely my go to luthier/guitar service center.

  • *****

Really impressed by the quality of service...not the best selection but the guys there are very helpful and have very fair pricing (not trying to rip you off).

I'll be going back for sure!

The Music Store That Ate My BRAIN! These guys just keep getting BETTER! Just picked up my G&L ASAT and 77' Les Paul Standard from TME yesterday. Robert did a great (magnificent) job setting these up for me! I'm talkin good man! Thanks Robert! I bought the G&L back in 96' from TME when Jim and Hugh were at the old store location (before we all had short grey hair). I've been dealing with TME since the early 90's. I've purchased lots of gear & stuff from these guys over the years. Its always FIVE STARS! Thanks again guys and Deanna! This is powerful stuff.

  • *****

Went in there the other and purchased my first acoustic guitar. It was a wonderful experience, the staff was super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this shop to any who is looking for great service and awesome products. Thanks again for the awesome experience guys.

I like reading reviews. It helps me get a feeling for people's experiences with different places. I'm 39 years old and this is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review ever, for any kind of business. I admit I went to the big box store down the road first to look for a guitar for my son. While the selection was impressive the service was horrible. After standing around for 40 min (after receiving a one sec, be right with you multiple times from multiple people; and we were 2 out of 5 customers in the store) my son and I bailed. We then went to Texas Music Emporium. Right off the bat theres a different vibe. Greeted as soon as we came in and was given the option to either look around or asked if they could help; our choice. Polite, respectful, and knowledgeable. Not only did they work with us on the price, but made sure everything was tuned up the correct way. They didnt know that wed been to the other store either, so this wasnt a way to keep us from going back to a competitor. Everyone was nice and friendly. Billy was the rep we dealt with and he was nothing but professional. Even calling them up on the phone later for a few questions after the sale they were eager to help and give advice. My son went from the first store discouraged and left TME with a desire to play; that to me was worth every dime!

  • *****

This is my go-to place for whatever I need! Deanna is awesome as are the rest of the sales staff. Forget Guitar Center, these guys will either meet or beat their prices and provide excellent service and support as well! You simply cannot get this at your typical online music store! SUPPORT LOCAL LIVE MUSIC AND SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MOM AND POP MUSIC STORE!

  • *****

Wonderful experience my fathers bajosexto is sounding outstanding recommend it here over all music stores nice people

  • *****

Wonderful staff! Very helpful and kind folks! They gave me a discount on an item just because I waited longer than what they felt a customer should wait to checkout. They didn't have to do that, especially because I wasn't angry or frustrated. I have my eye on a couple more items I need I will definitely be coming back to give them my business.

  • *****

Amazing customer service, great personnel, and the best of all... the price... got a new Takamine because of the price. T
    Thanks Bill

  • *****

Great store full of passionate staff ready to help. Check them out!

Great place to get instruments. And tge staff is great!!!

  • *****

Nice shop good customer service great prices

  • *****

I went into this store today knowing what I wanted to buy. I had done my homework and knew what I wanted. I wanted a pretty cheap guitar, but these guys made me feel like I was just as important as someone buying an expensive guitar. They did not try to up sale me, they even asked me to consider another brand with a lower price. Most of all, these guys, were super friendly. Joel is a great guy. Can't wait for my guitar to arrive.

  • *****

Bought a boutique amp today and had a great experience. I told Joel that I was just coming in to kill some time, which usually equates to glares, rude comments, etc. Not the case here. He was kind, professional, and helpful, and ended up giving me a better-than-fair price for an outstanding amp. Half of why I bought the amp was because of the service. Thanks guys.

  • *****

I've been shopping here for many years, always enjoyed the hospitality and the prices are more than fair. A great team of people to work with.

  • *****

The people are so friendly and know what they're taking about! The prices and quality of the items are AMAZING.. definitely going back!!

  • *****

I just walked in to buy some strings a couple of weeks ago and had never heard of this shop before. Ended up staying and talking to to staff for a while. Very friendly down to earth people. This is just like the guitar shops a lot of us remember from growing up. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. No need to go to Guitar Center ever again.

  • *****

Knowledgeable staff, reasonable pricing. Layaway available. Great selection.

  • *****

If there was ever a Blessed Place with Staff who love their students and what they do, HERE IT IS! Thank you for giving My Grandson HOPE and helping him develop his music talent!

  • *****

Great attention good people. I love this store.

  • *****

    Great prices!

  • *****

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. The store has such a cool vibe to it that Im taking my first lessons 23 years after I started playing guitar, and the guitar tech service is second to none. Stop in for a great experience. You just might find a new favorite guitar shop. I did.

  • *****

I love this place. So kind and knowledgeable.

I did a test. Accidental meaning I didn't intend on it but I did it.

Took a recent purchase to TME and another recent purchase to the place on the other side of the freeway. Both for set-up.

TME's "wizard in the booth" spotted issues and told me about them within minutes. Then went through explaining the repairs and solutions.

Place across the street "bip bam boom done" but solved zero issues. As if he had a specific set of things he has to do, no matter what. and nothing outside of that. Kind of paint by numbers procedure.

Guitar handed to TME was beat up and in bad shape. Guitar handed to the other place was less than a month old.

TME cost was a tad more (like 5%) but it came with new parts, and soldering and mild wood repair. plus tops to where I can go for paint fixes and what to ask for. Other place was just strings and lifting and lowering bridge for intonation issues.

End result. TME solved the (much worse) problem and went above and beyond. The place across the street denied any issues at all and swore everything was resolved. When I would strum where the issue is, the store manager cringed, the salesman cringed yet they denied the issue was there at all.

As far as any guitar work, TME is the top of the food chain.

    Thanks guys, you're awesome.

I keep coming here to make all my purchases because of the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff . Dont even waste your time down the road at GC . Youll find what youre looking for at a better price and better service here.

  • *****

    Good folks.

  • *****

Best place in town , great repair and guitar set ups , prices , and great QUALITY gear

  • *****

I just purchased a new nylon string guitar from Texas Music Emporium. I got a great deal, with on the spot action adjustments on an acoustical guitar. AMAZING!!! These folks know their stuff. I'm glad there is a brick and mortar shop in the neighborhood. Deanna helped me through the purchase. She knew exactly what I needed. I'll be back!

  • *****

One of the best customer support. Was able finally get my guitar working.

  • *****

    Great shop!!

  • *****

Much more personal than the larger music store down the road and at a better price. If they don't have it in stock they can order anything you need or want.

  • *****

Great place! The staff knows their stuff! Very friendly and helpful!

    Fantastic store. Great people.

    Texas music emporium

  • *****

This is a guitar player's guitar shop. When you go to Guitar Center, the walls are full of red SGs and sunburst Strats. Here, they have a wild variety of colors, brands, and pickup configuration.

If you need your guitar set up, this place is great as well. Their pricing is great, and they have so much knowledge that they are all happy to share.

  • *****

Great guitar store. Always great service. Been taking my guitars there service for years.

  • *****

Thanks Texas Emporium I bought my third beautiful Ibanez with you guys

  • *****

Made a few purchases over the years, sales staff has never been pushy and always willing to help answer questions. It's not a huge place so space is limited, but if they're able to, they'll special order you something they don't have. Prices are generally on par or slightly below average prices of most items. Never had issues.

  • *****

Very helpful and knowledgeable i will definitely return for any other instruments or services i may need in the future.

  • *****

Ive bought guitars here before, and Ive brought countless guitars in for work and setups by Robert, the guitar tech. I inquired for a certain PRS guitar that doesnt come to that shop often, so they took my information down and almost a year later once Id forgotten about even inquiring for it, Billy called me up to come in and pick which of the two they received Spoke more to me. Straight out of the box! Hugh has gone out of his way to send in special orders to Fender just for me for parts on a guitar in the making, and Robert can perform miracles in the repair room for any guitar. Joel is also super knowledgeable and never pushes or urges me to buy anything, but to simply check out and see a guitar here and there that he thinks Id like based on my style. The entire staff is there because they love music, and they have a passion for what they do. You can feel that. Im treated like a personal friend every time I walk in the door whether Im just stopping in to see whats on the wall or if Im spending some bucks on another guitar. Ill never spend my time or money anywhere else.

  • *****

Came and bought a PA. These guys take great care of you every time. Its totally worth the drive from Rosenberg. Will return for a D16 Martin Acoustic.

  • *****

I have known the owner since 1991 and have bought 3 Fender Bass Guitars, 2 Amps and many accessories over the last 10 years. They have a great inventory, great service on setting up your new or preowned guitars, and hospitality is off the hook! If your in the market to purchase Guitars, Drums or professional grade Audio equipment, this is the best place to go in Houston.

  • *****

Great shop! Super attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous. I was impressed that most of their guitars seemed to be set up. I wish I had a store as cool as this in North Austin.

  • *****

Jim and Joel were fantastic and very attentive!! We loved the store so much we had to go twice during our stay in Houston!!! It's a must for music lovers.

  • *****

Amazing store!!! Very nice employees and techs that know their stuff. Plus all the guitars in the store are perfectly set up.

I am super happy with my recent purchase (a Fender Squire) at this discount music center. I highly recommend Texas Music Emporium.
They sell Pro audio, Amps, Guitars, Keys, and Music Accessories. Also the guys that run the store are knowledgeable and not pushy. Check 'em out.

  • *****

Well it's been really nice to go out there and hang out with them rockers great deals on lot's of cool guitar and amps and the repair person is awesome he's had set up my rigs and does greatly appreciated set up .

  • *****

I've been here before but I've never really talked with the guys. The guys are like the cool uncles you had when you were a kid. Jim gave me a great deal on a guitar and a CLEAN Marshall. Avoid the other big box music store (you know the one) and give these guys a try.

Great place, took in my Yamaha TRBX304 bass for new strings and an adjustment took it home and had a little fret buzz, text Robert and told him about it his reply was, bring it back tomorrow I Want Your Instrument To Play Correctly, so I did and he did a fantastic job. He is the best and Texas Music Emporium Is The Only Place For Me. Again I want to Thank Robert and the staff for a job well done.

  • *****

Bought my 1st Telecaster, I wanted one for some time. Figured hey this is a nice looking guitar- an American Ultra bound body in Butterscotch Blonde. Billy showed my the features and sat my down to play. Billy also took the time to show me all the eye candy and case. A very thorough and professional sales engineer. I played for at least a 1/2 hour. Sounded amazing- Clear, Noiseless, balanced tone. Sounded better than I could imagine! Plays great. Told them give me a good deal and I will take it. Well a great deal offered and I accepted. Thanks TME!

I bought a Godin 5th avenue kingpin 2 sight unseen from Deanna. I think she was more nervous than I was. Took a few weeks to come in, Robert did the setup. Perfect, absolutely perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Deanna and Robert for all your help.

Stopped here on a whim to purchase a guitar stand as I was driving by one afternoon. Ended up purchasing a guitar head by the time I left.

It's a hard thing to find, a store like this. They have gone away with a lot of other great things. But this store is here, and it's awesome.

For sure my go to store from now on. Recommend 10/10

  • *****

These people treat you like a long lost friend as soon as they meet you. I am a novice and they could have told me I had to spend $$$ to get started, but they sold a quality instrument at reasonably price . I didn't want to start with an expensive set up for a new hobby but Billy and Hugh understood completely understood and led me to a great guitar at a reasonable price. I love my telly and play it every day.

They also have high-end guitars and equipment for those who are ready to step-up their game.

As for lessons; I tried getting lesson from a local large chain "guitar company", only to run into rules, paperwork, registration fees, and pre-pay minimums. TME is so much more cooperative. No registration fee, pay as you go, reasonable cancelation policy.

If you are new to music, an old hand looking for a new instrument, or you just need a few accessories I highly recommend Texas Music Emporium.

  • *****

I have been going to TME for 20 plus years and have spent literally thousands of dollars on guitars, amps, PA gear, lights etc. I have never had a bad experience there. The staff is knowledgeable and will steer you in the right direction, The equipment they stock is top shelf and I found the prices to be consistently lower then other music stores selling the same equipment. Thanks for everything over the years guys! I'll be back.

  • *****

    Deanna is very helpful

My son turned me on to this place, within minutes of walking in I could see why Music Emporium is the place to go! Very knowledgeable, experienced and super easy to talk to! A haven for any passionate musician!

  • *****

Awesome music store. The staff is knowledgeable and no pressure. They have the best prices in town.

  • *****

I went to the Texas Music Emporium today because I was in the Houston area. Being without a guitar for 4 days really had my fingers itching to play. The good people of the Texas Music Emporium welcomed me with an oustanding level of hospitality. Letting me play their prestine guitars and amps and giving me the brodest smile on my face when I left the place. If you have the time to visit just one place for your music needs in the Houston area make that place the Texas Music Emporium. This place rules!

Called in for a look about. Made to feel very welcome by the staff. Great place great people and great prices. Thanks to Hugh and the crew. Carl and Tony from the UK.

Have spent a lot of money in the past on guitars and TME is the only place where I actually had fun buying a guitar! Great service and the set-up on the new Martin D-18 was exactly what I asked for.
Can’t beat Hugh and the rest of the staff for a great experience. If you’re taking a young and shy kid in there for a first instrument there’s just a vibe in that store that will build confidence in learning and playing out. Having said that, I’m 70 and can say that 70 is the new 16!
Go to this store for a great experience…

These guys are the best. Hugh and all his staff treats their customs with top shelf service. Just a fun place to go. No one has ever beat their prices on any items I’ve purchased. Robert is one of the best Luthiers I’ve ever used. He has many years of experience and knows what he’s doing. I will only use him on any of my guitars for repairs, excellent restring work and just a professional guy. Give em a chance I know they will please you on a purchase of any music items.

This place is smaller but has so much more to offer. The staff is very helpful and will let you know the lowdown. Price might be a little bit more expensive (not by much) but they make it up with great customer service. Bought a Yamaha guitar from them, and talked about tone over name brands. The guitar sounds beautiful. Very knowledgeable staff and willing to help. Damn the man, shop local, help these guys put bread on the table!

  • *****

Have spent over 7 grand here, and one of my favorite guitarists of all time was a teacher there and still comes in every now and then (Rusty) I love this place. Recommended highly

  • *****

I have been buying from TME since the late 80's. They are the only shop I buy equipment from. I've had Jim make repairs to my guitars here, purchased guitars, drums, keyboards, amps and processors, and more than I could list. I go here because I know they will treat me fairly and I'll get the best deal I can get. Hugh is great and will help with questions, suggestions, and work with your budget, and will make you a good deal. Their guitar repair and set up guy is Robert Hampton (Robert was my first guitar instructor almost 30 years ago) and he's the best. TME is simply the best place around for any musical equipment needs.

Great selection and prices! Friendly, knowledgeable staff and the best customer service around, and expert repairs. I highly recommend TME to anyone looking for top brands, good prices, honest and helpful customer service. Love this store!

  • *****

Came in not having researched any good beginner guitars for myself, but Billy helped us tremendously and immediately. He was honest with his recommendations and feedback. He was not pushy and did not take advantage of my lack of guitar knowledge by trying to upsell me. I got a Yamaha F325D acoustic guitar (which included a bag, tuner, some strings and picks) for an exceptional price.

  • *****

    Awesome shop!

  • *****

    Nice service! 10/10

  • *****

Best guitar store around! I've been a customer since 2007, bought several guitars, and have never been disappointed. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help you find exactly what you need. Deanna helped me pick out the perfect Martin 12 string as my gift from my husband. Great prices and selection. They even threw in a free T-shirt for Xmas! As the big box stores seem to be in it for the $, TME really does care about their customers.

  • *****

Stepped in on Christmas Eve with our 16 year old son looking for a bass. We were made at home immediately. We ended up with a Ibanez left handed bass and Fender amp without breaking the bank. Our son has played his bass everyday and night since. I would recommend these guys to anyone wanting to experience as music store that cares. Bravo guys and Happy New Year!

This is my go-to place for whatever I need! Deanna is awesome as are the rest of the sales staff. Forget Guitar Center, these guys will either meet or beat their prices and provide excellent service and support as well! You simply cannot get this at your typical online music store!

Went in there the other and purchased my first acoustic guitar. It was a wonderful experience, the staff was super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this shop to any who is looking for great service and awesome products. Thanks again for the awesome experience guys.

I've been on the hunt for a place that had a few different Martin 15 series guitars to play for awhile. After a few months of going to the usual places inside the loop, I stopped by Texas Music Emporium. Much to my surprise, they had all three of the models that I wanted to play back to back. I played each of them for awhile, and, while I was one of the only customers in the store that early, the staff let me play and checked on me occasionally. It was a nice and refreshing experience when compared to the pushy "let me play you a riff to hurry your decision" approach at some of the other places around town. The other thing I enjoyed was the honest feedback I got from Billy when I asked him what he thought about the guitars when I was trying to make my final decision. He told me they were both good guitars but he personally would choose one over the other because it fit his personality.

One thing to note is they say they price lower than GC and some of the online stores. I would strongly recommend calling them before placing an order and being at the mercy of the USPS to see what they'll offer you. I, personally, got the best deal I've heard of in awhile.

I can't say enough good things about the experience I had at Texas Music Emporium today. Even though it's a drive for me, I'll definitely be coming back when I'm looking for new gear.

    Thank you guys.

Really impressed by the quality of service...not the best selection but the guys there are very helpful and have very fair pricing (not trying to rip you off). I'll be going back for sure!

Real sweet people! Didn't buy anything but the lady at the desk and the gentlemen chatted with me for about 20 minutes about gear. That's what you gotta love about a mom and pop music shop.

Came in for a ukulele do my daughter and worked with Hugh. Great selection in a little shop - no bullshit. These folks will set you up right.

    Hi Jim,
Just wanted to tell you I have spent a couple hours now with the 000-18 and the setup you performed is awesome. It plays beautifully and I couldn't be happier. I especially like the 3rd string substitution you did for me. Thanks again for performing this excellent service. I will definitely be bringing my other Martins in for setup and will refer others to your store.

After several bad deals with Guitar Center I took my friends advice and went to Texas Music Emporium and I'm glad I did. I purchased a new guitar and amp and J Rod helped me dial it in, The best time ever. Thanks TME!

    The ultimate guitar shop!

    I recently was looking for a n...
I recently was looking for a new amp and actually had my heart set on one from Guitar Center when I stumbled into the Texas Music Emp. The people there were great and showed me an amp that would perfectly meet my needs and to top it off their prices are the best I have seen, so I bought it. But this is not the end of the story. Upon purchasing the amp and several other items I brought it home plugged it in and the amp was, in my opinion, excessively noisy. After having a rough last few days I was not too happy and with an attitude took everything back to the store. To my surprise, they bent over backwards to find a way to fix the situation; more so than any other music store I have ever heard of. The end result is that they sent for a new amp and it works great!
If you are in the market for music equipment this is the place to go; I know I would not go anywhere else!!!

Best Little Music Store in Houston!
I am totally sold on these guys! They treat you like family and are extremely knowleable not only about gear but also the local music scene. They want your business so they do their best to match prices from the mega discount stores on the Web. However, they will not let you leave without your gear set up exactly how you want it! Sales, service, and even lessons are all top notch. They don't have the inventory of GC or Fullers, but they more than make up for it by the way they treat you and their prices. Great Fender, Marshall, and Martin dealer! Highly recommend!

This store rocks!!! Prices lower than Amazon.

Great place man. Took my guitar in there to get some wiring fixed and they told me everything that was wrong and helped me with a setup. Would recommend

(Additional comment: we bought the guitar and two hours later, the string broke. We brought it in and it was repaired in no time at all, and got a great intro lesson to boot.... We're very happy so far.)

I never noticed this store in the ten years I've lived in this area. Maybe it's because I'm sometimes oblivious to my surroundings, or maybe because I've never been in the market for instruments....

Anyways, found this place after searching for a music store online to purchase a guitar for my baby boy :,).

I was reviewing prices online for a beginner's acoustic guitar, then decided to actually take a look at the store's inventory. The employees treated us very nicely, and were very informative. This store has a big selection of guitars and they also offer guitar lessons.

Now, Guitar Center down the road has lower prices, but this store will try to beat or match their prices to earn your business. I loved that! I'm all for supporting small businesses, but I also have to manage my bottom line.

The manager offered us the same guitar for a better price than the Guitar Center. Ultimately, we offered to pay their sticker price and asked them to include the guitar pack. I think it was a win win situation. I'm glad he was willing to negotiate, makes me want to come back for future transactions.

I should preface this by saying that I worked for TME in college and I help them with their website today, but, even so, I buy virtually everything from the guys at the little music store on the north side of town because they have great deals and are good guys.

Jim, the owner, is a good friend, but also a fantastic guitar repair person. Honestly, he is WAY under the radar in a town where guitar repair guys are a dime a dozen. He worked on my guitar player's 1960's era Gibson 355 that was given to him by his father. It is an amazing guitar that had serious intonation and wiring issues. When Jim was done with it, my buddy told me it had never played better as long as he'd had it and it sounded like a million bucks.

The only drawback to the store is, because of its size, you won't find every brand under the sun. If you want something obscure or some high end pro audio/recording gear, this is not the place to get it. But, if they have what you want, I doubt you'll get a better deal anywhere in Houston.

There's other guitar/music shops in the area, but who cares?

Jim, Hugh and co. always take care of me. Heck, they take care of everyone.
The way they do business is how every establishment should.

    TME is MY guitar shop.

Hands down my favorite music store in Houston. Great service , prices, and they even do set ups.

Jim and Hugh are great guys, I always go to them first, prices and service are the best! Free T-Shirts too was a nice touch. You will not regret shopping here!!!

This store has quite the selection despite its small size. They have wall to wall guitars and amps at competitive prices. You will also get friendly, personalized service. Whether you're a novice or expert musician, if you need something they probably have it, if not, they will help you find it.

Have purchased from TME since 1989 and have always received great service and outstanding deals! The TME team know their business better than the 'box store' music stores and offer a personal touch with every deal.
